Bilberry (Blueberry) consists of the dried, ripe fruits of Vaccinium myrtillus L. [Fam. Ericaceae].
The fruit contain tannins, anthocyanins (e.g. myrtillin), and flavonoid glycosides. Commercial preparations are typically standardized at 25% to 36% anthocyanosides.

Daily dosage:
Internal: 20g. to 60g. dried fruit. 250mg. to 480mg. of extract standardized to 25% anthocyanosides in 2 to 3 doses.
Duration of administration: If diarrhea persists for more than 3 to 4 days, patient should consult a physician.
