Is gotu kola safe?

Can cause contact dermatits in some people. Has caused whole-body pruritis. May make patients more sun-sensitive. Patients should not use gotu kola for more than six weeks without a break.

Note: Asiaticoside may be a skin carcinogen if used repeatedly.


Is there any time when I shouldn't take gotu kola?

Contraindications: During pregnancy and lactation. Patients with epilepsy. Excessive doses may interfere with existing hypoglycemic therapy and increase serum-cholesterol concentrations.
