Is evening primrose oil safe?

Can cause mild gastrointestinal effects (e.g. indigestion, nausea, and softening of stools).

Can cause headache.

At recommended dosages, adverse effects are rare.

Both LA and GLA are normally present in breast milk, therefore it is reasonable to assume that EPO may be taken during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Pregnant or breastfeeding patients should check with their doctors before taking this herb.
