What is cranberry?

Cranberry (low-bush cranberry) consists of the ripe fruit of Vaccinium macrocarpon Aiton [Fam. Ericaceae]. Fruit contain anthocyanins, flavonol glycosides (leptosine), catechin, triterpenoids, citric, malic, and quinic acids.

How much cranberry do I need?

Juice doses range from 5oz. to 20oz. a day (6oz. equivalent to 90g. of fresh fruit).

UTI preventive: 3oz. (90ml.) as a cranberry juice cocktail (about one-third is pure juice). Drink 15oz. cranberry juice daily.

UTI treatment: Drink 12oz. to 32oz. (360ml. to 960ml.) daily.
