Nutritional Herbal Supplement Safety and Health Diet

Is boron safe?

Boron at moderately high intake levels appears to be safe, although information about this trace mineral is limited.

Very high intakes of this mineral can result in loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, skin rashes, lethargy, and diarrhea.

There are no known benefits to taking more than 2.0mg. to 5.0mg. of boron daily.

How much boron do I need?

There is no Daily Value, Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA), or estimated safe and adequate range established for boron.

The average daily diet provides 1.5mg. to 7.0mg. of boron.

A deficiency of boron might lead to low levels of calcium and bone changes similar to those seen in osteoporosis.
